British Asparagus Festival

<back

The British Asparagus Festival in the Vale of Evesham took place between 23rd April and 21st June (St Georges Day and Midsummers Day) the "traditional" growing period for Vale Asparagus

Starting with "The Great English Asparagus Run" on St Georges Day, and with a plethora of asparagus related events taking place throughout the Festival period, Worcestershire's Vale of Evesham is definitely the place to be for true aficionados.

The pinnacle events of the Festival were the Bretforton Silver Band Asparagus Auction and the Vale Festival Day held at The Fleece Inn in Bretforton. Despite torrential rain, hundreds of asparamad people attended the events over the May Bank Holiday weekend and during the historic auction £1,300 was raised for the Silver Band
